Monday 22nd May 06

Went into DB's studio Monday through Friday and did between two and five hours each day. Put my vocal on 'What lies beneath' and generally played around with the mix on various tracks. Thursday RW came in and sang on four tracks - all songs that were written for him to sing for a film project that failed to see the light of day. Now have eight tracks finished and can see the album taking shape.

NEWCASTLE ACADEMY
Very good venue with a great sound in the room and on stage. The best audience of the UK Tour so an excellent way to finish.

Now for the U.S..............

SHEFFIELD
The Boardwalk - a well run rock'n roll type venue - good sounding stage - p.a. not quite. Went back to two heads, one 4 x 12 and one 2 x 12. Very good crowd - they seem to be really 'into it'. Band now well oiled machine.

CREWE
Condition of venue in decline. Nevertheless a fun gig with a very good audience. Played through just one head and the 4 x 12 for second night - it worked for me both nights.

FROME
A big barn of a place - production not really up to the room and hospitality backstage very thin.Ý A very nice crowd and we did end up having fun. Very beautiful scenery all around the town - a stunning view from the rear of Hotel.

LONDON
The Mean Fiddler in London is a great place to play - a very good sounding room with high production values.Ý Very appreciative audience made the whole event special - even Steve (guitar tech) past a comment - a very rare thing!
