Monday 27th Feb. 06

After meeting with JB a couple of weeks ago to talk about the remix - re-issue of our earlier work together, we decided to also add two or three new and hopefully co-written tracks. So today I got down to coming up with some ideas for that project - am really looking forward to working with Jack again.

Friday 24th Feb. 06

Put new lead guitar on "Come to me" and changed main backing guitar on "You were the one" and added clean arpeggio guitar - coming along nicely.

After lunch break began on a new song called "The fading light" - worked to machine drum track and put four different guitar parts on all through Fenders and then a guide vocal.

Spoke to Pete about coming in to do drums and Dave will put bass down at same time - so far so good.

Thursday 23rd Feb. 06

Started today with new lead work on "Say goodbye" - mining a very rich seam this week. John (engineer) works very quick and I think quite gifted. Then went on to "Fly with angels" - built track up from bass and drum tracks recorded one year ago at New Rising Studios - end result very good. Then put guitar, bass and drum track up Ýfor "Hard truths" also recorded a year ago on same sessions - put on lead work - very pleased with tone from Blues Junior amps- just needs Davey to sing (coming in April). Then up to DB to mix it and that track is done. Ý

Tuesday 21st Feb. 06

Started work again on the new album today. Recording at No Recording Studios in Rayleigh, Essex.

Began the session using new signature Strat that Todd made for me in the custom shop at Fenders - and it's a beauty!

Playing through the OCD by Mike Fuller into two Blues Junior amps (Fender). Got some excellent stuff on "If you'll take me in again" and "Freefall". Can't wait to get Davey's vocal on them. Dave B great help in studio.

Wednesday 22nd Feb.06

Very pleased - got good solo on "Take me in" first thing today - switched from Fenders to Marshall '900' into 2 x 12 cab with good result.

Also finished "Dressed in gold" with fender amp sound on main riff - kept original solo work - flame thrower.

Next came "Time to say goodbye" (a song I wrote for Hazel to sing with X-static) remodelled from bass and drums up and it turned out great - some parts Blues Junior - some Marshall 900.

Dave and Pete are wonderful on all tracks we've looked at so far.

Replaced main guitar part and wah rhythm on "What lies beneath" - kept original solo - pretty much finished apart from vocal.
